Blood

Blood is the fluid of life, transporting O2 from lungs to body tissue & CO2 from body tissue to lungs. Blood is fluid of growth, transporting nourishment from digestion & hormones from glands throughout the body. Blood is the fluid of health, transporting disease fighting substances to the tissue and waste to the kidneys.

What is Hemoglobin

Red blood cells are red only because they contain protein chemical called hemoglobin, which is bright red in color. The hemoglobin molecule is made up of four polypeptide chains noncovalently bound to each other. Hemoglobin is a crystallizable, conjugated protein consisting of an iron-containing pigment called heme & a protein called globin.

 

Functions of Hemoglobin

Hemoglobin contains the element Iron, making it an excellent vehicle for transporting Oxygen and Carbondioxide. As blood passes through lungs, O2 molecules attach to hemoglobin & blood brings CO2 from body's tissue. Hemoglobin releases O2 to cells. The empty hemoglobin molecules then bond with tissue's CO2, transporting it away.

Deficiency of Vitamin B12 & Folic Acid

 Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause Hemoglobin is low, but red blood cells are abnormally large. Folic acid deficiency can cause the same pattern of changes in hemoglobin and red cell indices as does vitamin B12 deficiency. Folic acid can cause problems in the development of the brain and spinal cord of the baby

Deficiency of Iron

Iron is part of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying component of the blood. Iron-deficient people tire easily because their bodies are starved for oxygen. the body's fuel cannot be properly synthesized.

Deficiency of B6

The body needs vitamin B6 to make hemoglobin. Vitamin B6 also helps increase the amount of oxygen carried by hemoglobin. Deficiency of B6 can cause to make hemoglobin production. Vitamin B6 Essential for immune function. Vital for hemoglobin production. Aids in energy production.

Chemiron Provides Folic Acid

Folic acid or more specifically, its coenzyme THFA, has functions very similar to those of vitamin B12. Folic acid aids in red blood cell production by carrying the carbon molecule to the larger heme molecule. Heme is the iron-containing part of hemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying molecule of the red blood cells).
